📰 Umbraco 13 Release Candidate

Umbraco 13, the next Long Term Supported version of the CMS, is ready for testing. The release candidate includes upgrades like .NET 8 and C# 12 features, the Minimal Hosting Model, Webhooks for headless initiatives, Nested field limiting, Blocks in the Rich Text Editor, and a new Login Screen. Developers are encouraged to try it out and provide feedback to help ensure a successful final release, which is targeted for December 14, 2023.

Umbraco 12.3 introduces several improvements, including UI support for preview URLs in a headless context, access to protected content through the Content Delivery API using the OpenID Connect flow, and a new setting to improve boot times for large websites by fetching all data from the database at once. 📰 Annual price changes 2024

Umbraco is updating its prices for various products and services starting January 1, 2024, mainly due to price indexing. The changes affect Umbraco Cloud plans, Umbraco Heartcore, Forms, Deploy On-premises, Workflow, training courses, onsite training, certified master bundles, and support plans. Existing customers will see these prices on their 2024 invoices.

🚨 [Breaking change]: User accounts will be prevented from creating simultaneous sessions by default in Umbraco 13

Umbraco 12.3 introduced a new configuration setting to limit concurrent logins which will have it's default value changed to false in Umbraco 13. This will prevent a user account from creating simultaneous sessions by default, meaning that only 1 session is allowed to be active at a time. This setting can always be set to true to not invalidate other active user sessions.

Umbraco 13 addresses compromises made in Umbraco 12.2 for backward compatibility with the Media Delivery API. Changes involve using new interfaces instead of concrete classes, restructuring namespaces, and introducing new crop and focal point models for enhanced customization of media item output in both Content and Media Delivery APIs.
